Day 1-2 Home City - Beijing
Board your transpacific flight to Beijing. Cross the international dateline and set your watch a day ahead. Welcome to Beijing, China’s capital city and welcome to your China tour! Attend a welcome dinner and orientation. (D)
Day 3 Beijing
After a relaxing breakfast, your China tour will head to Tiananmen Square. This is the largest city square in China, as well as the world. Tiananmen Square can accommodate crowds of up to 1 million people. After Tiananmen Square, your China tour will arrive at the Imperial walls of the ornate Forbidden City. Today, the Forbidden City is a palace museum filled with many various treasures. Historically, it was the home of Chinese emperors and their royal families. The Forbidden City is the world’s largest surviving palace complex and it will surely leave you awestruck. Your China tour will then stop at a pearl factory and then continue on to the Summer Palace. The Summer Palace, also known as the Imperial Garden of the Qing Dynasty. This evening, you will be entertained by the Legends of Kung fu Show. (B/L/D)
Today you’ll experience what many people travel to China for. Experience a full-day excursion to the ancient Great Wall. No China tours are complete without it! Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to a Jade factory. This afternoon, tour Beijing’s historical Hutong area traditionally. Arrive in a Chinese pedicab and visit a local family. Their abode is a traditionally styled home containing a courtyard. This style is known as a "Siheyuan". Tonight's special treat: Roasted Beijing Duck for Dinner. (B/L/D)
Day 5 Beijing
A free day at leisure and to explore Beijing on your own. (B)
After breakfast, visit the
Temple of Heaven, National Museum of China and the 798 Dashanzi Art and Cultural District.
This area is a hub for contemporary Chinese art with a wide array of different styles. Chinese set lunch will be served. Transfer to the airport and board your flight to Yichang.
Board your Yangtze River Cruise and have a dinner after embarkation. (B/L/D)
Day 7 Yangtze River Cruise
In the morning you will be guided through a Tai Chi session, guaranteed to provide a peaceful awakening. Next, your tour will take you to Xiling Gorge, to be amazed by the stunning scenery as you sail through. Embark on a shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam Site, the largest water conservancy project undertaken by man. Later, enjoy the spectacular sights while passing through the Three Gorges Dam on a 5-star Yangtze River cruise boat. Tonight feast on a Captain's Dinner, with a Folkloric Performance this evening. Day 8 Three Gorges
Tai Chi is available this morning again. Awake and stimulate your senses and calm your mind. Depending on the river conditions, there may be a shore excursion to Shennv Stream, a natural habitat of mandarin ducks and golden-haired monkeys. After lunch, admire breathtaking views of the narrow cliff walls and dramatic vistas in the Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge. (B/L/D)
Day 9 Yangtze River Cruise
Participate in another guided Tai Chi session in the early morning. Later in the morning take a shore excursion to Fengdu "the Ghost City". Tonight is a Captain's Farewell Dinner and a Talent Show! (B/L/D)
Day 10 Chongqing – Xian
Arrive in Chongqing, home to over 30 million people. Before flying to Xian, visit the City Zoo to see the lovely pandas, a Chinese national treasure. Xian was the first capital under a united China. Qin Shi Huang was the emperor at the time. Xian is also the starting point of the Silk Road.
After lunch on your own, transfer to the Chongqing Airport for your flight to Xian. If time allows, visit the Ancient City Wall before dinner.
This evening's festivities include the Tang Dynasty Dancing Show and Dumpling Banquet.(B/D)
Day 11 Xian – Guilin
Explore the famous Terra Cotta Museum. Local farmers discovered the Terra Cotta Warriors in 1974 while digging a well. Little did they know that their discovery would turn out to be one of the most astounding archaeological finds of the 20th century. The underground battle formation in Pit 1 is comprised of 6,000 life-size clay warriors and horses; the soldiers stand in military formation; infantry battle order facing east with some armour, but no helmets. Made of local clay, no two faces are alike; each weighing over 300 kilograms and standing about 1.86 metres tall. En route, visit an Art, Ceramic & Lacquer factory. Transfer to the airport and fly to your Guilin tours. (B/L)
Day 12 Yangshuo
By boat cruise, take in the magnificent scenery of the Li River. Arrive at Yangshou. Stroll leisurely along the walk on West Street. (B/L/D)
Day 13 Yangshuo
Explore with a day at your leisure or take an optional tour. (B)

Day 14 Guilin - Shanghai

Day 15 Shanghai
After breakfast, enjoy a city tour. The Shanghai tour includes many places such as the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, documenting the history of the Bund. Visit a silk rug factory, followed by the lovely and serene Yu Yuan Garden. This 16th century maze is made up of colourful pavilions, ponds, stone dragons, arching trees and flowers. This garden is surrounded by its instantly recognizable zigzag bridge. This Ming Dynasty garden is a fine example of miniature landscaping and occupies an area of 2 hectares located in the ancient City God Temple and the Cheng Huang Miao shopping area.
These areas are a must see on any China tours.
Next, visit the Bund once known as the "Wall Street of Asia". The Bund is lined with 1930's-era buildings, it is China's most famous waterfront. Also see Xintiandi, trendy and home to a number of large shops, cafes and boutiques.
Say farewell with a delicious dinner of Shanghainese dim sum. (B/L/D)
Day 16 Shanghai
Compliment your China tours with a day at your leisure to explore the sights or shop around. (B)
Day 17 Shanghai – Home City
Transfer to the airport for your return flight home. We hope you enjoyed your China tour! (B)
***Longji Rice Terraces Optional Tour - CAD 339/person. Minimum 2 people***
After breakfast, your guide will meet you at your hotel in Yangshuo. Enjoy a 4 hour scenic drive to Longji where you can view the amazing rice terraces. Villages are scattered throughout the drive. This is the part of China you came to see! Spend some time visiting the rice terraces. The rice paddy's resemble great chains or ribbons as they wind from the foot of the hills all the way to the top. Afterwards, visit some of the Minority villages. Overnight stay at Longji Star Wish resort, perched on top of a hill. Be prepared for a 30 to 45 minute hike up the hill. You could pay the locals to carry your personal items up the hill at a nominal fee, which is optional. (B/L/D)
Day 13 Longji – Guilin
Drive back to Guilin and meet with the main group.
