Day 1-2 Home City - Beijing
Your tour to China will start with a transpacific flight to Beijing. Cross the international dateline and set your watch a day ahead. Welcome to Beijing, China's capital city. Attend a welcome dinner and orientation. (D)
Day 3 Beijing
After breakfast, Beijing tours will begin. A must-see on all tours of China, you will start with a visit to Tiananmen Square. Considered to be the largest city square in the world, it is able to accommodate crowds of up to 1 million Chinese people. Enter the imperial walls of the ornate Forbidden City. The Forbidden City is currently a palace museum filled with various beautiful treasures. For five hundred years it was the home of Chinese emperors and their royal families. The Forbidden City is the world’s largest surviving palace complex, is truly a breathtaking sight and belongs on the itinerary of all tours to China. You will then visit the pearl factory. Continue on to the Summer Palace and the Imperial Garden of the Qing Dynasty. (B/L/D)
Day 4 Beijing
Beijing Tours always include the ancient Great Wall and ours is no exception. Originally built as protection from the Huns and other Nomadic tribes, it never completely fulfilled its purpose. Take a break from your Beijing tours of China with lunch at a local restaurant. Visit a Jade factory and continue from the Wall to the famous Ming Tombs, where there are 13 Ming Dynasty emperors buried. Enjoy a traditional Beijing Roast Duck Dinner. (B/L/D)
Day 5 Beijing – Yichang
The next day of your tour of China will bring you to the Temple of Heaven in the morning to watch or join the local people exercising, dancing and singing. Afterwards, transfer to the airport and fly to the river town of Yichang. Local dinner then board your 5-star Yangtze River Cruise cruise. (B/D)
Day 6 Yangtze River Cruise
Participate in guided Tai Chi in the early morning. Enjoy the stunning scenery as you sail through Xiling Gorge. Embark on a shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam Site, the largest water conservancy project undertaken by man. Later, enjoy the spectacular sights while passing through the Three Gorges Dam 5-stage ship locks. In the evening, there will be a Captain's Dinner and a Folkloric Performance. (B/L/D)
Day 7 Three Gorges
Participate in guided Tai Chi in the early morning. Depending on the river conditions, there may be a shore excursion to Shennv Stream, which is a natural habitat of the mandarin ducks and golden-hair monkeys. After lunch, admire breathtaking sights of the narrow cliff walls and dramatic vistas in the Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge. (B/L/D)
Day 8 Yangtze River Cruise
Participate in guided Tai Chi in the early morning. Later in the morning, take a shore excursion to Shibao Pagoda "Pearl of the Yangtze". Captain’s Farewell Dinner and Talent Show tonight! (B/L/D)
Day 9 Chongqing – Xian
Arrive in Chongqing, home to over 30 million people. Before flying to Xian, visit the City Zoo to see the lovely pandas having fun. Xian was the first capital of a united China under the First Emperor, Qin Shi Huang. Xian was also the starting point of the Silk Road. Visit the Ancient City Wall that surrounds this ancient Chinese capital. Enjoy the Tang Dynasty Dancing Show and Dumpling Banquet. (B/D)
Day 10 Xian – Hangzhou
Explore the famous Terra Cotta Museum on day 10 of your tour of China. Local farmers discovered the Terra Cotta Warriors in 1974 while digging a well. Little did they know that their discovery would turn out to be one of the most astounding archaeological finds of the 20th century. The underground battle formation in Pit 1 is comprised of 6,000 life-size clay warriors and horses; the soldiers stand in military formation in infantry battle order facing east with some armor, but no helmets. Made of local clay, no two faces are alike; each weighing over 300 kilograms and standing about 1.86 metres tall. En route, visit the Art Ceramic & Lacquer factory. After dinner, your China tour continues as you transfer to the airport and fly to the romantic city of Hangzhou. (B/L/D)
Day 11 Hangzhou - Suzhou
Start a cruise in West Lake, which is surrounded on three sides by rolling wooded hills. Then visit Longjing, the home village of the world famous Longjing Dragon Well Green Tea. Take a walk along Hefang Old Street, which is a lively pedestrian shopping street featuring a variety of Chinese crafts, snacks, silk, tea houses, old fashion movie players, bonsai shops and souvenirs. Continue the bus ride to Suzhou. (B/L/D)
Day 12 Suzhou - Shanghai
Visit the Lingering Garden, a renowned classical Chinese garden. Then, follow your China tour to the Silk factory where the traditional technique of producing silk will be demonstrated. City tour and some free time in the old town of Suzhou. Visit the Chinese folk Art Embroidery Institute and then continue the drive to Shanghai. (B/L/D)
Day 13 Shanghai
After breakfast start the city tour. Climb the Jinmao Mansion to get a bird’s eye view of the city. Visit a Silk Rug Factory before a delicious Mongolian Style BBQ Lunch. In the afternoon explore Chenghuangmiao Old Town Bazaar, the Bund and the famous Nanjing Road. Reflect your China experience over a Farewell Dim Sum Dinner. (B/L/D)
Day 14 Shanghai – HomeCity
Say goodbye to your China tour as you board your transpacific flight home. (B)
