This program covers the highlights of the magical Rajasthan. Discover the various colors and vibrancy along with warm hospitality and fascinating culture. The program begins from your arrival into Delhi, the political capital of the country. Next visit Agra, the Mughal city famous for Taj Mahal and other monumental marvels. Continue to Jaipur, a royal city with diverse colors and history brimming monuments and citadels. Drive further to Pushkar, the holy city. Continue to Udaipur, most romantic city of Rajasthan. Discover the forts & palaces of the Marwar region as you travel further to Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. Next visit the royal city of Bikaner and continue to Mandawa, famous its hand painted Havelis and frescoes. The tour culminates in Delhi.

Day 1  Home City - Shanghai – Delhi
Take your own international flight to Delhi. Cross the international dateline and adjust your watch accordingly. (Suggested airline China Eastern)

Day 2  Shanghai - Delhi

Arrive in Shanghai and take your connecting flight to Delhi. 


Day 3  Delhi

Welcome to Delhi.  Arrive and transfer to your hotel.  Afternoon visit to Akshardham Temple.

Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple is an impressive temple showing the magnitude of the ancient architecture of India. It is a great monument of pink sandstone and white marble, 43 feet high and 96 wide. In addition, the temple is decorated with 234 carved stone columns, with over 20,000 sculptures and statues of deities.


The building rests on the shoulders of 148 huge statues of elephants and, inside, has three exhibition rooms, located next to two large water tanks. In one room you can see a spectacle of light and sounds that addresses the moral values of India and in the other, movies are shown on a large screen. You can also take a boat trip on the lake or relax in the meditation garden, a luxury you can not lose. Admission is free to visit the temple but to see the light and sound show, film, and the boat ride is paid.   Photograph inside the temple is not allowed. (B)


Day 4 Delhi

After breakfast, proceed to Old Delhi visiting Raj Ghat: Cremation Garden of Mahatma Gandhi followed by Photo stop at Red Fort. New Delhi where you visit the mighty Qutub Minar (Victory Tower) , the unique lotus shaped Bahai Temple, Photo stop at India Gate (War Memory arch) – President Palace & Parliament House. Later visit Sikh Temple at Bangla Sahib. Overnight stay at your hotel. (B)


Day 5  Delhi - Agra  

AM: This morning enjoy a combined sightseeing tour of New and Old Delhi where you visit Rajghat, India Gate (the war memorial) and Presidents House (From outside) Lotus temple (Closed on Monday) - this distinctive lotus shaped marvel in Marble is a symbol of peace. Further continue to Qutab Minar- a UNESCO World Heritage Site- the tallest brick minaret in the world.

Later leave for Agra

PM: Arrive in Agra and check in to your hotel. (B)


Day 6  Agra

AM: Enjoy a sunrise visit to Taj Mahal - a UNESCO World heritage site (Closed on Friday). The 17th century Taj Mahal is often called a poem in stone. If so, the mausoleum is a love poem - created by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal. It took 22 years to be completed and was designed and planned by a Persian architect Ustad Isa. Apart from its stunning design balance and perfect symmetry, the Taj is also noted for its elegant domes, intricately carved screens and some of the best inlay work ever seen.  Return to hotel for breakfast.

Visit Agra Fort - A UNESCO World heritage site. The elegant building reflects an interesting synthesis of Hindu and Central Asian architectural style. It was built by Emperor Akbar.

This evening witness a marble craftsmanship demonstration at a local unit. (B)


Day 7  Arga - Jaipur 

AM: Leave for Jaipur . En-route visit Fatehpur Sikri - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the deserted red sandstone city was built by Emperor Akbar as his capital and Palace in the late 16th century. Evening arrive in Jaipur and check in to your hotel. (B)


Day 8  Jaipur

AM: Leave for an excursion to magnificent Amber fort. Accent the fort riding on Elephants/Jeeps. It is known for its unique artistic style, blending both Hindu and Muslim (Mughal) elements, and its ornate and breathtaking architectural mastery.


PM: Continue sightseeing tour of Jaipur. Drive past Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), one of the most photographed monuments of the city. Continue to City Palace and its museum. Also enjoy rickshaw ride through old part of Pink city. Time permitting: enjoy shopping experience accompanied by a specialist along with demonstration of Gem-cutting & polishing.  Enjoy special Rajasthani dinner at a local restaurant. (B/L)

Day 9  Jaipur - Pushkar 

AM: Depart for Pushkar.

PM: Arrive in Pushkar. Check in at your hotel. Enjoy a walking tour of the city visiting local bazaars and temples. Later enjoy a special Pooja (prayer), ceremony by the lake side with a Hindu priest. (B)

Day 10  Pushkar - Udaipur 
AM: Drive to Udaipur.

PM: Arrive in Udaipur and check into your hotel. In the evening, embark on a boat cruise on the placid, mystical waters of Lake Pichola. (B)


Day 11  Udaipur

AM: Enjoy an orientation tour of the city. Visit City Palace; a conglomeration of buildings added by various Maharanas; the palace manages to retain a surprising uniformity of design. Continue to Sahelion- Ki -Bari, it was laid for a group of forty-eight young women attendants who accompanied a princess to Udaipur as part of her dowry. The gardens set below the embankment of the Fateh Sagar Lake have beautiful lotus pools, marble pavilions and elephant- shaped fountain and Jagdish temple. 

PM: Return to hotel. Remainder of the afternoon will be at leisure.  Enjoy special dinner at Rajbagh. (B/D)


Day 12  Udaipur - Jodhpur 

AM: Drive to Jodhpur, En-route visit, Ranakpur Jain temples. Ranakpur boasts some of the most exquisite Jain temples in the country famous for their intricate friezes and sculptures.

PM: Arrive in Jodhpur. Check in to your hotel. (B)


Day 13  Jodhpur - Jaisalmer  

AM: Visit the magnificent Mehrangarh fort which dominates the town ringed with its massive protective walls. There are seven gates that lead into the fort. Inside the fort is a series of courtyards and palaces. Continue your tour to Jaswant Thada, located a short distance from the fort, just off the fort road, is a white marble memorial to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II.  

PM: Leave for Jaisalmer  Evening arrive in Jaisalmer and check into your hotel. (B)


Day 14  Jaisalmer

AM: Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer. Visit Jaisalmer Fort, it is the main attraction of this picturesque desert city, built in 1156. Two hundred and fifty feet tall and reinforced by an imposing crenulated sandstone wall 30 feet high, it is the second oldest fort in Rajasthan. Also visit the intricately carved Havelis or mansions.  Salim Singh ki Haveli was built around 300 year ago. It belonged to Salim Singh, the Prime Minister to then Maharaja of Jaisalmer, Maharaja Rawal Gaj Singh. Patwon-ki-Haveli is the grandest mansion in Jaisalmer, having a ceiling supported by exquisitely carved pillars. Nathmal ki Haveli in Jaisalmer is a famous landmark of this place. The architecture of this mansion is a unique blend of Rajput as well as Islamic style of construction.
PM: Excursion to sand dunes. Enjoy a camel ride by the sunset. (B)

Day 15  Jaisalmer - Bikaner 
AM: Leave for Jaisalmer.
PM: Arrive in Bikaner. Check in your hotel. Later visit a Camel Breeding Farm. The centre has developed a camel museum, which attracts the attention of researchers and tourists. Different breeds of camel are produced and preserved at the centre (closed on Saturdays). (B)


Day 16  Bikaner - Mandawa  

AM: Visit Junagarh Fort. With its sumptuously decorated interiors, the fort was built in 1588 by Raja Rai Singh it is unusual in the sense that it was one of the few major forts of Rajasthan that was not built on a hilltop. Later drive to Mandawa

PM: Arrive in Mandawa and check in to your hotel. (B)


Day 17  Mandawa - Delhi 

AM: Explore the beautiful town of Mandawa. See the hand painted Havelis that are some of the splendid examples depicting the regional folklore. Walk and maze through the streets, bazaars and observe colorfully dressed local people and there day to day activities. Later drive to Delhi

PM: Arrive in Delhi and transfer to international airport for flight home. (B)


Day 18  Delhi - Shanghai - Vancouver

Say goodbye to India as you depart for Shanghai. Arrive Shanghai and take your connecting flight to Vancouver.
